The family Man 2 was finally dropped on 4th June after 2 years of wait. A lot of questions were left unanswered. Does it answer them all? The reason The Family Man 1 was loved by many was its realistic base. No matter how thrilling something is, if something based on the real world is not as realistic, it remains bland somewhere. So which one is better, season 1 or season 2? Read spoiler-free comparison and review below.
Is The Family Man Season 2 more realistic?
Yes, more than season 1. The Family Man 2 sticks to its grounds. It cleanses your palette good if you have recently watched too unrealistic, heroic, and melodramatic series because it has none. It is complexed, yet simple and fair. As a bigger picture than season 1, season 2 also emphasizes how the security forces' duties are affected by politics and how their families are affected by their duties. This time it is much more than just being in the field far away from the family.
Is season 2 more thrilling and more comical?
No. You might from season 1 remember scenes like Aatharv holding a gun, Moosa escaping the hospital, nerve gas being smuggled, or the entire Kashmir sequence. These kinds of nail-biting scenes are few in number. Also, there are no specific comic scenes like Atharv abusing during traffic, the Mangalsutra scene, conversation with the school principal that you take away with you even after completing it. Rather, it is much more emotional on a personal level. The case is new but there are personal elements that have come from the first season.
What about performance?
Manoj Bachpyee (Srikant), Sharib Hashmi (JK), Priyamani (Suchi), Sharad Kelkar (Arvind), Vedant Sinha (Atharv), Darshan Kumar (Majaor Sameer), Shahab Ali (Sajid), Ashlesha Thakur (Dhriti), all of them have been able to get back to their character as well as evolve without leaving their core. Moreover, you will get to see amazing people like Samantha Akkineni (Raji), Mime Gopi (Bhaskaran), Ravindra Vijay (Muthu), Uday Mahesh (Chellam), and Vipin Sharma (Sambit). Samantha has been the strongest both in terms of her role and her performance.
New Elements
You'll get to see a whole new cultural perspective of language, food, and lifestyle from Tamil Nadu. You'll get to learn about the rebellion of the Sri-Lankan Tamilians. You'll also get to see deeper Politics. Mainly, you'll get to see the brilliant abilities of these actors. Besides guns, you'll get to see a lot of cool actions. You'll also see bigger roles of the characters from the previous season.
In conclusion, The Family Man 2 is as good as The Family Man 1. You must watch it. Unlike other series, The Family Man 2 doesn't hold conventional ideas about the same attitude of everyone in power, forced comedy and absurd thrill. If you are looking for series that doesn't exaggerate much and has a satisfactory ending, you must watch The Family Man. Usually, the second season doesn't reach the expectation of the audience, but The Family Man 2 does.
