Moomin, 9XM, Tv Filmy, Tito Satya, Richie Rich Compilation

'Batti ayooooooo'. What was the first thing you used to do after this? Switch on the TV? Shuffle between NTV, Star Plus, Sony, Star Utsav, SAB, Nick, Disney, Zoom, and MTV? Yes, if you belong to Generation Z! In this article, we'll be taking you all into nostalgia back to our childhood TV memories that we can never forget.

Childhood Shows

The Nepali Gen Z literally grew up watching Hindi content more than Nepali ones on Television. Remember how we used to wait for shows on Star Utsav. From Shaka Laka Boom Boom to Son Pari, Shararat, Phir koi hai, Akkad Bakkad Bombay Boo, Vicky aur Vetal, Karishma ka Karishma, all these were our childhood companions.

Lots and Lots of Cartoons

Moomin and Mina were two of very few cartoons that were dubbed in Nepali. That is the reason why we have a very special feeling for them in our hearts. Beside these, we used to spend hours watching Pokemon, Dragon Tales, Ninja Hattori, Perman, Doraemon, Power Rangers, Richie Rich, Tom and Jerry and so many more. Remember 'Team Rocket phir see haar gaye'?

Daily Soaps

Some of us, especially girls loved watching super dramatic daily soaps like Pavitra Rishta, Pyar Ki Yeh Ek Kahani, Utran, Balika Badhu, Sath Nibhana Sathiya, Hitler Didi, etc and youth-based shows like Kaisi Yeh Yariyaa, Warrior High, D3, Gumrah etc. Do you remember how we all fell for Dr. Arman Malik from Dil Mil Gaye and Abhay Raichan from Pyar Ki Yeh Ek Kahani? Secretly, boys watched them too!

Nepali Tele Serials/ Sitcoms

One thing that genuinely united all the family members at a point in the day is Nepali Tele serials. Jeere Khursani on Monday, Tito Satya on Thursday, Meri Bassai on Friday and the comedy shows of the legendary duo- Haribansha and Madankrishna used to be a laughter riot in every Nepali household. Remember 'Jwai le Chori lagyo?' and 'Paisa falne rukh'?

TV Filmy

One of the very few Nepali channels based on films was TV Filmy. Every day at 9 PM, a Nepali movie would be telecasted. Remember shows like Filmy Samachar, Filmy buzz, Guest Appearance, Filmy Kiro, and the one where they would mix Bollywood music videos in Nepali songs?

Bollywood Songs

Even when it comes to songs, we listened to more Bollywood songs on MTV, ZOOM, 9XM, B4U and shuffled between these channels. We would get so excited to know which songs were ranked in the top 10. Remember bade, chote and bheegi billi from 9XM?

Gopikrishna FM Radio Filmy 101.8 MHz

I'm sure you just read this line in RJ Style. During load shedding, mobile radio would be our substitute for TV. Gopikrishna FM used to broadcast shows talking about the release and box office collection of the latest movies, played the latest songs and the radio ads were super funny. Remember the show where we could call and request a song? Let us know in the comments how many of us actually called and requested a song!

Hope you had a good nostalgic journey to the past. If we have forgotten to mention anything else from the TV, please remind us in the comment section.
